Khaodham – by Gabriela & Karem

A brief history

Khaodham is managed by Swiss born Gabriela Mäder and Thailand born Karem Roengsamut. They get support from a sales team in Zurich and various local cooperators on the island Koh Yao Noi.

Gabriela Mäder was visiting Thailand in 2006 in order to establish a community center for children on behalf of a charitable organisation. She immediately fell in love with the island Koh Yao Noi and seized the opportunity to come back to Thailand for several months every year in order to support this promising charity project. Meanwhile Karem Roengsamut re-migrated from a perennial stay in Canada back to his home island and made Gabriela’s acquaintance.

Together they have launched a café at the beach which has by now become one of the most favored meeting points – for tourists as for the locals. The idea of Khaodham was born.

Due to their knowledge of the local situation and their network in Europe they have been able to expand their offer: they are letting attractive accommodation to travellers from the whole world – partly on an exclusive basis.
