Eating out in original Thai restaurants

Places to eat

Enjoy original Thai-food in one of these restaurants.

All the resorts on the island have their own restaurant with tasty traditional Thai food and sometimes also European food. However, there are also many local restarants on the island that are worth a visit. Below we have just listed a few; there are of course also others worth visiting.

Even the Thai food stalls on the side of the road offer you delicious Thai food. Just ask for “mai pet” (not spicy food) and they are very happy to serve the tourists. At every restaurant you can also order for take away, you just have to say “sai glong”. Most of the Thai breakfast shops are only open until 9 am. They offer delicious Thai rice meals and rice soup “khao tom” for breakfast and special “kanum” rice sweets which are packed in banana leaves and are enjoyed together with a Néscafe.
